Changing the 'jarring' iPhone alarm clock sound by using a secret setting

Our mobile phones have well and truly taken over from the traditional alarm clocks in getting us up in the mornings.

Instead of setting up the dials to the right time, we can just simply enter in the time we want to wake up in the morning into that handy little device.

iPhones in particular have become a staple to the morning routine, with many Scots opting for the Apple device in the smartphone era.

But it appears many find the default alarm sound on the phone to be a little bit jarring.

While the sound named ‘Radar’ does the job in getting us out of bed, it can often send shivers down our spines.

One iPhone user said that the sound makes them want to “punch everything” in the morning, Wales Online reports.

For people that are not quite the biggest fan of the noise, then there is a way to change it to something more pleasant.

The iPhone Bedtime sleep feature allows you to set the amount of time that you want to sleep each night, reminds you when it's time for bed and helps you wind down.

And finally it will wake you up gently.

The section can be found in your iPhone's Health app, click "Browse" and then "Sleep".

Select the "Set Up Sleep" button and follow the instructions.

Then go to "Full Schedule & Options", then "Edit" and finally "Sounds & Haptics", where you'll be able to browse nine Sleep alarm options.
