OPEN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. As a condition of employment, employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program. POSITION TITLE:INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR

HOURS:Full time.

BASE SALARY:Starting Salary: $87,741-$140,267. Bi-weekly pay period. Annual Education Incentive:Associates $996, Bachelor’s $2,004, Master’s $2,496.1% above base up to 10% for prior experience.

DESCRIPTION:The Chief Information Officer (CIO), also known as the Director of the Information Technology Bureau, provides the Sheriff with support for unifying leadership and vision in the strategic direction, implementation, and management of the Sheriff’s information technology (IT) bureau and budget. The CIO advises the Sheriff on all IT-related programs and issues. The CIO also has responsibility for operating a highly complex and dynamic networked infrastructure and applications, providing full-spectrum IT services to all of the Sheriff’s staff, and ensuring continuity of operations.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief of Staff. Performance is evaluated through observation, results obtained, oral/written reports, and appropriate employee performance appraisals. Must exercise independent judgment and demonstrate business acumen and sound technical knowledge to accomplish program objectives.

REQUIREMENTS: To submit an application:

• Current, valid Florida driver’s license

• FCIC/NCIC/LASO Certifications within six (6) months

• Four (4) or more years of experience maintaining large office/lab PC and/or network environment,

including two (2) or more years with supervisory and administrative responsibilities

• Bachelor’s Degree Required

o Degree Preferred in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Data

Processing, Business Administration, Public Administration, Personnel Management, or other relatedfield

• Sit/stand for prolonged periods

• Be of good moral character, have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral

character, perjury or false statements

• No tattoos that depict violence, gang affiliation, illegal substance or activities
