CSI: Vegas season two has been dealt another blow following the exits of both William Petersen and Jorja Fox.

Just days after Fox confirmed that she would not be returning as Sara Sidle, TVLine is reporting that another series regular has bowed out of any future episodes.

Despite only wrapping its first season back in December, it's believed that Mel Rodriguez is the latest cast member to quit Vegas.

While US network CBS has yet to officially confirm the reports, it's claimed that the door is being left ajar for Rodriguez's Chief Medical Examiner Hugo Ramirez, so future guest appearances could still be a possibility.

News of Rodriguez's departure comes after Jorja Fox announced her own exit earlier this week. In a statement, Jorja told fans that she had "decided not to 'Sidle up'" again.

"For me, CSI has always been a love story. The story that people can find love in the darkest of places and times," she explained. And the story that love, even in the darkest of places and times, can expand and grow roots and endure."

Alluding to Petersen's exit, Jorja added: "I personally just can't split Sara and Grissom up again. So goes Grissom… So goes Sara. Wherever they go, they belong together."

Petersen and Fox returned for the 'sequel' CSI: Vegas series last year, more than 20 years after the original show first aired.

Although Gil Grissom will no longer be a part of the Crime Lab when it returns for a second season, Petersen is at least expected to stay behind the scenes as an executive producer.

CSI: Vegas airs on CBS in the US. No UK broadcaster has been announced yet.
