More venues have been added to Sydney’s exposure sites list after the state recorded its biggest spike in local COVID cases.
Of the 77 cases recorded on Sunday
, 33 were in the community during their infectious periods.
As the cases continue to rise, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned that Greater Sydney’s lockdown was “highly unlikely” to end on July 16 as currently planned.
“The length of time of the lockdown is dependent on all of us,” she said.
“If people don’t leave home unless they absolutely have to, we’ll come out of this sooner rather than later, but that’s why I want to leave the door open to the advice we provide.
The new venues of concern includes a Kmart store, Coles supermarket and a McDonalds restaurant.

“It really depends on how quickly we can turn the numbers around.
“Given where we’re at and given the lockdown was supposed to be lifted on Friday, everybody can tell it’s highly unlikely at this stage, given where the numbers are.”
The new venues of concern includes a Kmart store, Coles supermarket and a McDonalds restaurant.
